What we collect

Account data: your name, email address, and a hash of your password. Shop data:your Etsy orders, order items, listings, fees, and statements — retrieved read-only through Etsy’s API if you connect your shop, or from the Etsy CSV exports you upload — from which we keep what is needed to compute your profit and show you your order history. That includes your customers’ names and delivery addresses as they appear on your own orders. We process that information solely to provide this service to you, as your service provider — we do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to market to your customers. Connected accounts: Printful order costs, and, if you connect them, Google Analytics traffic figures for your shop pages. We request the minimum access each feature requires.

How we use it

Exclusively to provide Sell Gauge’s analytics to you. As a service provider to your shop we do not sell your data, do not use buyer information for marketing or advertising of any kind, do not build marketing lists, and do not share store data with anyone beyond the processors listed below.

Who else processes data

These are the only third parties that handle data on our behalf. Everything below the first two applies only if you connect that service; nothing is shared with a provider you haven’t connected.

• Amazon Web Services(United States) — hosting for the application and its files.
• Neon(United States) — the managed PostgreSQL database your shop data is stored in.
• Stripe— payments for your own storefront. Card details are entered on Stripe’s pages and never reach us.
• Printful— receives the items and the delivery address for orders it fulfils.
• SiloCDP— storefront analytics and web push notifications. Its tag loads on your storefront only for visitors who accept the consent banner, and it receives their browsing activity on your shop and, for anyone who opts in, their push subscription. Visitors who decline, or who never answer, are not tracked by it at all.
• Google Analytics and Anthropic— used only when you connect them with your own account, for traffic figures and market-research drafting respectively.

Storefront feedback, questions and shop news. Shoppers can leave feedback on a product page, or ask the shop a question from its front page — that one asks for a name and an email address, because it exists to get an answer back to you. Separately, and only if they tick the box, they can ask to hear about new designs. An address given to ask a question is used to reply to it and for nothing else: it reaches the shop owner and no marketing platform unless that box was ticked. We never sell or share it, and every marketing message must offer a way to unsubscribe. Feedback and questions are private to the shop owner and are never published.

Buyer information taken from your Etsy exports is never sent to SiloCDP or used for marketing. Your storefront’s own visitors and your Etsy buyers are kept as separate lists, because they were collected on a different basis.

How it’s protected

Store access tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM; the database is encrypted and not publicly reachable; all traffic uses TLS. Access to production systems is restricted and audited.

Retention and deletion

Uploaded and synced shop data is kept so your history and trends keep working, and no longer than reasonably necessary to provide the service. Disconnecting an account deletes its access tokens immediately. Deleting your account removes your tenant’s data, including the customer details held alongside your orders. If one of your own customers asks you to erase their information, contact us and we will remove it from your records. To request deletion, email support@sellgauge.app.

Breach notification

If data accessed via the Etsy API is compromised, we will notify Etsy and affected sellers within 24 hours of discovery, as required by the Etsy API Terms of Use.

Your rights

You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time via support@sellgauge.app. The term ‘Etsy’ is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This Application uses Etsy’s API, but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy.
